Quaker Christmas by Bygone Stitches
25ct Vintage Country Mocha
Over One
Sister Scarlet Thread by CC Belle Soie
1-16-2008 to 5-3-2008

Finally!! Quaker Christmas is done. I finished this 2 weeks ago but of course I have been to busy to post about it. I truly am sorry to see it done, it was so much fun to stitch.

Below is another small finish I had. Its called Stash Keep by Homespun Elegance. Its a little red metal tin and the pins and needle pattern gets made into a pin cushion on top.

And now are some pictures of the goodies I purchased yesterday. Myself and a friend decided to make the long journey to the nearest LNS which is almost 2 hours away. I have been so very good about buying things lately so I splurged a bit. I have a weakness for silks and I am always on the hunt for the perfect red. I got 2 charts Sally Spencer by BOAF and a Butterfly pattern by Just Nan. I am not a Just Nan stitcher normally but they had a model stitched up that was so pretty with gold beads (had to put that in there so I don't forget, lol). I purchased the Angel Worke Box by Historic Stitches (made by Liberty Hill) I have been eyeing up this box for a while and since it was their last one I just had to get it. I also got a surprise for a friend that's not pictured of course, lol.

Happy Stitcher Everyone!! Thanks you for stopping by and leaving your comments.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!

This is the little shop we found in Paris called Des Fils Et Une Aiguille. If I remember correctly the tour guide said in english its called Needle and Thread. (??) I did not take any pictures inside as it was a tight fit and their was several of us shopping at lightening speed.

I forgot to take a picture of the needlepoint shop where I purchased the scissors. But the 2 books and 2 patterns I purchased at the shop pictured above. I have been wanting the Rouge book for a long time and just never got around to ordering it online, so glad I was able to get it this way.

I worked more on Quaker Christmas last night and watched alot of recorded TV shows I missed.

Hi Everyone!! I know its been such a long time since I last posted. I have been stitching, working and traveling. Finally home and settled again so I can now keep up with the posting better. Here is an almost finished Quaker Christmas. I am still really loving this piece!!
I have lots of photos to show you in the next few posted. I got to travel to England, Holland, Germany, Switzerland and France. The sites and food were amazing the whole trip. The very BEST part of the trip was a needlework shop that we got to visit in Paris. I met the designer of Bleu de Soie and later that same day the designer of Drawn Thread was supposed to be there, but we have only a small amount of time there. LOL, cant remember the shop name right now but I have a photo!!
Well enough for today, back to work for me. Tonight I will have my birthday dinner with my family, sure did miss them all while I was away (shhh dont tell them that!! lol) Will post more tomorrow.
Happy Stitching!!!

I really have been stitching!! The scan makes the red floss look really pink, its not like that in natural light. But I have made the decision not to use the green for the wording. The red I used just doesn't work with any green I have tried. So I will do the words in gold and the rest of the alphabet in red.

I just looked thru yesterdays mail and I finally got my pattern for the new Quaker Virtues by ByGone Stitches. I love this new pattern and I think it may be the next one I start.

Two weeks ago I was lucky enough to visit a shop about 2 hours away from here called The Edwardian Needle it was a dream come true, lol. She had every kind of thread you could imagine. Every time I thought oh they don't have this, I would turn a corner and there it was. LOL, I am already planning my next trip. I just wanted to let you all know as they do have everything right there and if you are looking for something fast, they do mail order!!!!

We decided to take the dogs up to the beach this afternoon. I really thought Maggie would have the most fun but it turned out that Bailey really loves to dig up beach sand, lol. Maggie is just about 10 months old now and weighs in at 82 pounds, I cant believe how fast she is growing!!

Most the pictures I took today were in black and white ( love b&w pictures ) but to make hubby happy managed to get a few good color ones as well.

Here is a updated picture of my Quaker Christmas by Bygone Stitches. This piece is so addictive, all I wanted to do all week was to sit and stitch but I had to work. So today and tomorrow I plan to stitch the days away! I am very happy with my floss choice but I still havent made the decision whether to add the green and gold yet.
Thank you for all the wonderful comments on this piece, its just one of those patterns people cant seem to get enough of (lol, including me!!) There is a great blog dedicated to this pattern called Quaker Christmas SAL I cant wait to see all the fabric and color choices.
Also, thank you for the well wishes for my up coming trip. Very excited about this one.

Thank you for the help in trying to figure out the floss in the picture. I ordered a few that look like it, so we will see. Thanks again!!

I started Quaker Christmas last Wednesday, this pattern is addictive, lol. I went from not wanting to stitch at all to thinking about stitching all day, lol. I decided to use Belle Soie Silk by Crescent Colours in Sister Scarlet. I have the green and gold as well but have not decided if I will make the sampler a solid color or just do the gold angel. I am using 25ct vintage mocha lugana over one.

Nothing else new around here. I will be going away overseas again this spring. Last year we went to Italy and I was in heaven seeing all the sites I only thought I would read about. Well, this year is a bit more special as I will be stopping in the Black Forest of Germany. My great grand father was born and married my great grand mother ( she was Lithuanian) there and I have pictures scattered thru my house of my families there. I doubt I will met anyone I know but at least I can add my picture to the wall when I get back.
